PVA-based sizing agent is the most efficient synthetic sizing and fabric processing agent. It has excellent adhesion to cotton, hemp, polyester, vinylon, and viscose fibers. The sizing film is colorless, transparent, tough, abrasion-resistant, sunlight-resistant, and has high mechanical strength. It can reduce the head breakage rate of the fabric. Due to the small amount of sizing, the woven fabric is smooth and delicate without being rough, and it can increase the number of rolls and is easy to desize.

PVA can also be used as a fabric finishing agent, often mixed with urea and formaldehyde. When the fabric undergoes high-temperature baking, it undergoes a chemical reaction, making the resin more flexible, thus improving the stiffness and elasticity of the processed fabric. The degree of stiffness of the fabric can be adjusted by the amount of PVA used.
