Modified Polyester Fiber: The Next Generation of Polyester

As times change and living standards rise, people seek fabrics that are not only durable but also comfortable and functional. The new fabric, Modified polyester fiber, overcomes many shortcomings of regular polyester and marks the beginning of Polyester 2.0.

Modified polyester fiber adds hydrophilic groups and soft segments to the original polymer. This makes it hydrophilic, easy to dye, deeply dyeable, anti-static, and anti-pilling.

1. Features of Modified Polyester Fiber

As a functional fabric, polyester 2.0 has the following features:

1.1 Natural Hydrophilicity

Modified polyester fiber’s moisture regain rate is over four times that of regular polyester. It absorbs and evaporates sweat quickly without hydrophilic agents, providing a cooling effect.

1.2 Anti-Static and Anti-Pilling

Modified polyester fiber has lower static resistance and better anti-pilling performance than previous polyester generations. It reduces the prickly sensation while wearing. Modified polyester fiber’s modulus is 10%-20% lower than regular polyester, making the fabric soft, cotton-like, and comfortable.

1.3 Low-Temperature Dyeing

Unlike traditional high-temperature dyeing methods, modified polyester fiber can be dyed at 95-100°C. At normal pressure, the dye uptake rate is 2-3% higher than that of regular polyester at high temperatures. It is compatible with natural fibers, cellulose fibers, and nylon. This reduces costs and maintains fiber integrity. The heat-setting temperature for Modified polyester fiber fabrics is 15-20°C lower than for regular polyester. This saves energy and makes garments softer.

1.4 Reduced Use of Dyeing Agents

Modified polyester fiber reduces the need for dyeing and post-processing agents, shortens dyeing time by 25%, and decreases the use of dyeing agents by 30%. This saves resources, reduces electricity and water consumption, and lowers carbon emissions.

2. Achieving Deep Dyeing

To achieve deeper dyeing, increase the dyeing temperature to 105-115°C. This enhances color saturation. The results are better than fully dull fiber fabrics. Modified polyester fiber also provides excellent cotton-like effects. It solves issues of uneven color in traditional cotton-like products.

3. Applications of Qinglon Fiber

As a low-temperature dyeing blend fabric, Modified polyester fiber can be combined with acetate-like, cotton-like, and hollow fabrics. This enhances product differentiation and replaces expensive fiber products. Modified polyester fiber has broad applications in everyday life and sports. It proves comfort and environmental benefits.

Conclusion

Modified polyester fiber’s superior performance makes it suitable for various applications. Continuous research into its modification and scalability opens up more possibilities for its use in diverse fields.
